Welcome...

Come meander with me on the pathless path of the Heart
in these anecdotal,
sometimes inspiring, sometimes personal meanderings of the Heart's opening in the every-day-ness of life...

Keep Peace With Your Soul - Max Ehrmann

 Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.

Be yourself.
Especially do not feign affection.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars...
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

...whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life
keep peace with your soul...

  1. I love this...and that so many of my friends embraced it in the 60s and 70s...and now! Thank you. The photo is really beautiful too!

  2. Thank you for bringing this beautifully written piece from long ago into the light. It was significantly popularized I think in the 70s when posters and all sorts of paraphernalia carried these words. More importantly, the sentiments expressed were instilled in the hearts of many.
