“What calls the ear to listen,
or the eye to see
more than the surface façade
that shrouds the essential spirit?
…Bare your heart to the Unknown
and never look back.
What you are stands content,
invisible,
and everlasting.
…split open into eternal delight.”
Adyashanti

May you awaken
to the mystery of being here
and enter the quiet immensity
of your own Presence.
May you have joy and peace
in the temple of your senses.
May you receive great encouragement
when new frontiers beckon.
May you respond to the call of your gift
and find the courage to follow its path.
May the flame of anger free you from falsity.
May warmth of heart keep your presence aflame,
and anxiety never linger about you.
May your outer dignity mirror an inner dignity of soul.
May you take time to celebrate the quiet miracles
that seek no attention.
May you be consoled
in the secret symmetry of your soul.
May you experience each day as a sacred gift
woven around the heart of wonder.

I am especially drawn to this first photo with the lovely shining, luminescent light! And I love the John O'Donahue poem. "May you awaken to the mystery of being here" love that line. Now if I could just do this each day, that would create a different orientation to life.
ReplyDeletereminds me of a short dharma talk (8 min) I listened to by Gil Fronsdal last night on contentment, just about creating the attitude of contentment or looking deeply at it's absence.
thanks for making us think deeply, as always!
ZDS ~ Ah yes, the first photo caught me too. DH took it with his cell phone! Forgot to write that at the end...
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I am drawn to the sky lately, finding inspiration there, and then finding the quotes to go with the photos has been inspiring for me as well - reminding myself of what I need to hear.
Do you have the link for Gil's dharma talk?
"the quiet miracles that seek no attention." I love John O'Donohue, have two of his books. i too love that top photo. mystical.
ReplyDeleteSuki ~ That top one looks even more mysterious enlarged, as if there is a great portal... And the second one, when enlarged, shows greater definition of those lovely clouds... Many years ago I listened to Anam Cara by John O'Donohoe.
ReplyDeleteThe talks are at audio dharma and there are tons of them, some long, some short. I like his quiet, grounded way of expressing the dharma.
ReplyDeleteThank you Carole... I checked out the website. Wow - that oughta keep me busy for a while :)
ReplyDeleteYour magical images and collection of quotes today lifted me... Thank you so much, Christine :o) ((HUGS))
