Welcome...

Come meander with me on the pathless path of the Heart
in these anecdotal,
sometimes inspiring, sometimes personal meanderings of the Heart's opening in the every-day-ness of life...

Have You Hugged Your Ego Today? - Fred LaMotte

I love my ego.   A person who tries to flat-line
and abolish the ego can be very humorless and dull.
Have
you hugged your ego today?  The ego is no bondage at all,
because it only lasts for an instant, responding playfully
to this momentary alignment of particles and forms, then
vanishing back in to the Ocean of Consciousness.  The ego
is very responsible, the soul's response-ability to each
situation that arises.... [it]is born from the play of Consciousness
in myriad selves
I need my ego to dance, my little bubble of "I"....
Let your ego sparkle, dance, sing and meditate.  Let your ego
effervesce and dissolve again and again in laughter, in tears.
You really do need an ego if you want to laugh and cry.

Personal Note: The ego is part of the whole package.
There is no need to get rid of it, or deny it - just be
who you are, be ALIVE, embrace the whole package
 of who you are.

I haven't met a "spiritual teacher" yet who did not
have an "ego."  If you're with them long enough
you see it seep out from behind the "spiritual teacher"
facade.  :)

a gift for my "ego"  2 years ago
on my 72nd birthday :)
that made me giggle with delight.
Some egos don't like birthdays,
they don't believe there is a self
to celebrate...  It's still their ego :)))

A Single Leaf Falls...

Leaning back on the soft, stuffed chair back cushion
I sink into myself, and rest there...

I hold my hands over my chest, as if holding
a tiny infant against my heart.

I realize I am actually holding my self, my own
heart in my hands - cradling and nurturing
my "little heart". as of it were a child;
reassuring it that it's alright;
loving it...

All these burdens that it's been carrying for so
long, lurking in the dark shadows, in need
of embrace and release.
A deep cry would be good - but the tears don't come.

I breathe deeply into the painful wounds of the heart -
feeling empathy and compassion for the "burden carrier",
as she has carried the angry, shadowy baggage of a
painful family dynamic far too long.

I'm looking for IN-spiration that I can't seem to find.
Within I only find sadness and tears wanting to emerge,
to be felt - but are held back, as if dammed by a
learned facade -
waiting to explode - and be set free.
Like a river frozen in deep archaic woods,
embedded there for centuries; locked in time,
encoded in the body and mind - needing to flow
through and be released, not left hidden behind a
silent spirituality,
always "up", always "strong", holding it "together."

The facade starts to crumble, being replaced by authenticity,
and a different strength - a "speaker of truth" - her own truth,
that must be spoken,
not drowned in other people's words and ways...

A single leaf falls from a tree outside the window,
a poignant moment in her reflection.
Soon the tree will be bare, naked - and exposed...
Vulnerable without her covering...

A Time of Passage...

This is a time of passage,
the passing away of old patterns of life;
a passing of what we thought was true;
what we believed to be real;
the old facades of being,
the images we hold of ourselves.
Everything is passing away.

It's a passage out of time
where time has no meaning anymore;
passing into timelessness
and times beyond time.

Leave everything alone...  Let it all be...
Let things take their natural course...
Let life go its own way...

We cannot stop the currents from flowing
the way they flow -
even if it is painful...

Trust the unseen deeper current
that leads to peace...
that Is Peace...

"The Mystery" never leaves you - John O'Donohue

"The Mystery" never leaves you alone.  Behind your image,
below your words, above your thoughts, the silence of another
world waits.  A world lives within you.  No one else can bring
you news of this inner world.  Through our voices, we bring
out sound from the mountain beneath our soul.  These sounds
are words.  There are so many talking all the time, loudly,
quietly, in rooms, on streets, on TV, on radio in the paper,
in books [on Facebook :)]. The noise of words keeps what we
call 'the world' there for us. We take each others' sounds and
make patterns and predictions, benedictions, and blasphemies.
Each day, our tribe of language holds what we call 'the world'
together.  Each person brings sound out of silence and coaxes
the invisible to become visible.

Above us, galaxies dance out toward infinity.  Under our feet
is the ancient earth.  We are beautifully molded from this clay.
Yet the smallest stone is millions of years older than us.  In our
thoughts,  the silent universe seeks echo.

An unknown world aspires towards reflection. Words are the
oblique mirrors which hold your thought.  You gaze into these
word mirrors and catch glimpses of meaning...
Behind their bright surface is the dark and the silence.  Words
are like the god Janus, they face inwards and outwards at once.

If we become addicted to the external our interiority will haunt
us.  We will become hungry with a hunger no image, person or
deed can still.  To be wholesome, we must remain truthful to our
vulnerable complexity.  In order to keep our balance, we need to
hold the interior and exterior, visible and invisible, known and
unknown, temporal and eternal, ancient and new together.  No
one else can undertake this task for you.  You are the one and
only threshold of your inner world.
  This wholesomeness is
holiness.  To be holy is natural; to befriend the worlds that
come to balance in you.

Behind the facade of image and distraction, each person is
an artist in this primal and inescapable sense.  Each one of
us is doomed and privileged to be an inner artist who carries
and shapes a unique world.

Human presence is a creative and turbulent sacrament, a
visible sign of invisible grace.

B's San Diego Trip - Seaport Photos...

While I continue to ride this wave on the Ocean of Life, progressively *improving* from this lung condition, thanks to all your wonderful well-wishes and healing energies both publicly and through emails, and the vibrational waves J, I thought I would share some of the best photos of B’s recent business trip to San Diego, Calif., taken with his Kindle!  Some are just stunning… inspiring… and some offer a view into a lifestyle *we* seldom see! - and will *never* live ourselves, nor would we want to! J I’m no ascetic, we live comfortably, and am not about to renounce the world, but this is a little over the top!  As B called it: a kind of “valley girl” way of life - the emphasis on the façade and image.  Here’s to “the good life!” LOL

Hotel Towers

Hotel Lobby

Hallway

We now step out of the posh fantasy façade
into another unreal world:
B’s Bungalow J

Note the 70’s “beach boy bungalow” feel
to the décor with the funky furniture.
For a mere 200+/night…
All that’s missing is the surfboard! LOL
