Welcome...

Come meander with me on the pathless path of the Heart
in these anecdotal,
sometimes inspiring, sometimes personal meanderings of the Heart's opening in the every-day-ness of life...

Life Breaks Through...

“There is a brokenness
out of which comes the unbroken,
a shatteredness
out of which blooms the unshatterable.
There is a sorrow
beyond all grief which leads to joy
and a fragility
out of whose depths emerges strength.

There is a hollow space
too vast for words
through which we pass with each loss,
out of whose darkness
we are sanctioned into being.

There is a cry deeper than all sound
whose serrated edges cut the heart
as we break open to the place inside
which is unbreakable and whole,
while learning to sing.”

Rashani Rae – 1991

  1. Christine, I love how you can pick a poem that is so astoundingly beautiful for the pictures you take (assuming you took this lovely picture)> I usually find it hard to read poetry but you make it so personal, spiritual and inspiring. THank you oxox

    1. Thanks Aarathi :) Yes, I did take this photo :) several years ago while we were traveling down the highway, not far from here. Actually in this case, I had the poem in mind that I wanted to use, and went looking through my photo files. Originally I had another photo I was going to use, and then I remembered I had this cloud one that seemed more appropriate... :) The poem by Rashani is one of my favorites, especially in "dark" times. Am glad it inspired you. Heart Hugs back :)

  2. You have a magic way of pairing words and images, Christine... this gave me much pause today. "...while learning to sing..." Happy Day ((HUGS))

    1. Thank you Tracy... This is one of my favorite poems, especially in these dark times with so much violence around the world. We forget sometimes that LIFE is still there, through it all. Heart Hugs back :)

  3. Indeed, a lovely pairing of word and image...the theme of brokenness finds resonance. I agree with Aarathi, it's so much easier to read poetry this way...and the soul needs poetry.

    1. Thank you Stacy... The theme of brokenness finds resonance here as well. I see it on a personal level - old wounds rising with the mandala work - with family members, and obviously on a global scale... Yes! The soul indeed needs poetry! I call it the mystics music :)
