Welcome...

Come meander with me on the pathless path of the Heart
in these anecdotal,
sometimes inspiring, sometimes personal meanderings of the Heart's opening in the every-day-ness of life...

Autumn Mosaic - Delores Stewart

Before we come with rakes and crackling
energy to clean it up,
the backyard is precisely
as the dog prefers it - left alone,
a natural selection
of leaf, stick, bone, pod, seed, and stone.

But we are cosmic instruments
of music
and disturbance, only
animals by half,
and will not let the season bleed
its shifting earth designs
of stone, bone, leaf, stick, pod and seed.

Some earthscapes rearranged
are gardens, or hillsides
shorn to make a path for wired poles
or graveyards stiff with grief
or clearcut forests.  Let me take care
of seed, stone, pod, bone, stick, and leaf.

Let me recall the universe
is breathing in my breath, it plays
its tune in me, it dreams my being -
an unnamed, unrecorded god
becoming conscious as I am

of leaf, seed, stick, stone, bone, and pod.

I am a painting made of sand and pollen.
Structure and spirit
are my codes.  Nothing of life
is random or a trick
I draw myself a part of all
with pod, leaf, bone, seed, stone, and stick.

The circle of the seasons turns
and never comes back quite the same.
Fertile impulses in time
will overgrow the patterns I have sown,
return to animal wilderness
of stick, pod, stone, leaf, seed and bone.

Let me be glad
new seasons bud from stick and leaf,
new forces split a pod and spill the seed,
new rhythms rise from stone and bone.

Living the Fantasy of Becoming - Jim Harrison

Nowhere is it the same place as yesterday.
None of us is the same person as yesterday.
We finally die from the exhaustion of becoming.

This downward cellular jubilance is shared
by the winds, bugs, birds, bears and rivers,
and perhaps the black holes in galactic space
where our souls will all be gathered in an invisible
thimble of antimatter.  But we're getting ahead of ourselves.

We whirl with the earth, catching our breath
as someone else, our soft brains ill-trained
except to watch ourselves disappear into the distance.

Still, we love to make music of this puzzle.

Morning Grace - W.S. Merwin

It is at last any morning
not answering to a name
I wake before there is light
hearing once more that same
music without repetition
or beginning playing
away into itself
in silence like a wave
a union in its own
key that I seem
to have heard before I
was listening
 but by the time
I hear it now it is gone
as when on a morning
alive with sunlight
almost at the year's end
a feathered breath a bird
flies in at the open window
then vanishes leaving me
believing what I do not see

A Quiet Spirit - Henry David Thoreau

When I detect a beauty in any of the recesses of nature,
I am reminded by the serene and retired spirit in which it
requires to be contemplated, of the inexpressible privacy of life -
how silent and unambitious it is.
The beauty there in mosses will have to be considered from
the holiest, quietest nook.

My truest, serenest moments are too still for emotions...

~

To be calm, to be serene!
There is the calmness of the lake when there is not a breath
of wind; there is the calmness of a stagnant ditch.  So it is
with us.
Sometimes we are clarified and calmed healthily, as we never
were before in our lives, not by an opiate, but by some
unconscious obedience to the all-just laws,
so that we become like a still lake of purest crystal
and without an effort our depths are revealed to ourselves.

~

I awoke into a music which no one by me heard.
Whom shall I thank for it?  I feel it a blessing.
To the sane man the world is a musical instrument.
The very touch affords an exquisite pleasure.

Vibrate the Cosmos - Saran Kauer

We vibrate on a cellular level, on an emotional level, we
vibrate in our heart beats, we vibrate as we communicate
through our voices.
We live in a vibrational Universe.

Everything that exists in the Universe has an individual
vibratory signature.  Even the planets have their unique
humming sounds as they orbit in space!  So we keep
vibrating and whatever we are a vibrational match with
will easily flow into existence.

What we manifest around us [fear, anger, hatred, love, peace]
is just a reflection of our own point of vibration.

How will you vibrate the Cosmos...

At its Essence everything is energy.  We are beings of energy -
the Source Energy that reverberates with each molecule,
every cell of the body.  Source Energy animates every living
being.  We thrive when our actions and interactions are
aligned with the energy that animates and sustains
[the Universe].

The energy that we encounter inside ourselves is the same
energy that guides the movement of the heavenly spheres -
the stars, the galaxies, universes.

Each living being has a characteristic profile of energy
frequencies expressed within his or her body.  Our
individual energies pulse in and out of the Sea of all
Energies...

When we tap into that confluence of energy we arise renewed,
knowing that the energies in our bodies are moving with the
harmonies of vast Cosmic Music.  There's nothing you have to
do to earn the presence of the Source Energy, for it is nothing
less than the Essence of who you are.
