Welcome...

Come meander with me on the pathless path of the Heart
in these anecdotal,
sometimes inspiring, sometimes personal meanderings of the Heart's opening in the every-day-ness of life...

The Soul's Secret Signature - C.S. Lewis

...Are not all friendships born at the moment when at last you
meet another human being who has some inkling (but faint and
uncertain at best) of that something which you were born
desiring, and which, beneath the flux of other desires and in all
the momentary silences between the louder passions, night and
day, year by year, from childhood to old age, you are looking
for, watching for, listening for? But you'be never had it...

All the things that have ever deeply possessed your soul have
been but hints of it - tantalizing glimpses, promises never quite
fulfilled, echoes that died away just as they caught your ear.
But if it should really become manifest - if there ever came
an echo that did not die away but swelled into the sound itself,
you would know it.

Beyond all possibility of doubt you would say:
"Here at last is the thing I was made for."  We cannot tell each
other about it.  It is the secret signature of each soul, the
incommunicable and unappeasable longing, the thing we
desired before we met our wives [husbands] or made our friends
or chose our work, and which we shall still desire on our
deathbeds, when the mind no longer knows wife [husband] or
friend or work.  While we are, this is.  If we lose this, we lose all.

~

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
[the True Friend] -

and say, sit.  Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was yourself.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

True Identity - Seth Balthazar

True Identity cannot be lost.
No matter how many masks you wear
the unique face underneath cannot be lost.
It cannot be lost, but it can be forgotten.
The "I" cannot be lost, but it can be blinded.
To find it again is only to remember that which
you already knew.
It is the remembrance of your true identity.

The search is for one's true identity.
For who you ultimately are,
and what is your essential source.
To know through and through the Essence
of your being.
And to live that, to express that in the world.

Inward Turning...

Turn
inward
towards ME,
”The Beloved;”
the Face of your Self;
the Light in your Heart;
the space of Pure Awareness…

Turn from the voices of the unconscious,
- the land of the living dead -
the voices of confusion, hatred, violence;
the ones who distract
you from *knowing*
the Truth…

of life being “sold” to the masses;
with its false delusions of the Real;
including the “spirituality” vendors,
who sell you their “frameworks”
to keep you seeking, striving,
believing you need more,
leaving you empty…

Come – sit with ME.

Sit in solitude
with ME…
Hearing,
Seeing,
Aware-ing,
Knowing ME.

In looking for a photo for this post, I found this one in my files.
It is a picture of the September Full Moon (2011)

through the skylight.
What captured my attention when I saw the photo
was the reflection of what appears to be an “inner window”

or door.  You can see a square like image to the right of the
ball of light.
I did not notice this when I took the photo,

but only saw this afterward, and after turning the photo :)
In a sense it is what this poem is about –

 turning and going inward,
metaphorically through the inner window/door.
Just sitting, turning inward to the Sanctuary of Silence,
and meeting that spacious Awareness
that is always there…

The Face of the 'Self'

What is this “I” – this *sense* of me,
that rises up with thought and emotion?

What is this “I” – this *sense* of me,
that engages in the surface chaos,
with the suffering, and gets entangled?

What is this”I” – this *sense* of me
that will not rest…

What is this “I” – this *sense* of me
that resists recognizing its own
Beingness, its Presence,
its own reflection…

When will this “I” – this sense of me
no longer arise as a separate sense of me,
imagined to be real…

Thought comes back in and
creates the idea of this sense of me…
Contraction occurs.
And a sense of “me” emerges…

What is this “I” – this sense of “me”?

It is Consciousness itSelf…
It is Being itSelf...
manifested as the “me,”
playing *as* the “me.”

”I” (me) is also IT (Consciousness)
having a thought, a dream
that is called “me.”

Being/Consciousness *appears* as “me”
being “me”
being itSelf…

The “self” is the face of the ‘Self ‘-
interfacing with life…

We *are* the ‘Self’ being the “self” –
simultaneously itSelf…

Like the Ocean rising up
and curling back on itSelf - seeing itSelf.

We are ripples of the water of Existence.

We are Existence itSelf.
