Entropy is the way of Existence.
It is a telescoping of everything that is,
back to its original Source/State;
a re-homing of all that has manifested in form;
the conceptual structures,
so that only
the Eternal Essence
remains...

Do not be alarmed by the seeming destruction
of what you have believed to be real.
The false must be released, shed - like dross.
In this there is a sense of chaos, destruction, loss, and death;
the crucible affect;
a state of alchemy,
the refinement of all things in existence

to their Original Nature.

Nothing is really lost in the process.

All is coming Home.

The
Divine
Out-breath
Has
Been
Re-called.

Bring your awareness to the place of Stillness within.
Don't try to create order in the chaos.
But be still and let the chaos pass.
"Order" is found in the Stillness,
in returning to the deep Stillness of Being within.

The healing of mankind
is in the recognition of the
Truth of our Eternal Essence,
Our Infiniteness
Our Primal Light...

Entropy is the crucible of that healing...

Mining for Jewels - Chuck Surface

For jewels, we dig through the earth or hammer rock.
And upon finding, remove them from their encasement,
Leaving behind the rubbled detritus of earth and stone.

Just so, I approached the world of religion and philosophy,
Digging, sifting, washing away veiling encrustations,
Of hardened orthodoxies and binding dogmas.

The jewels found in that rubble. more or less precious,
Were expressions with which my Heart felt affinity,
And with which my discerning mind did not take issue.

The measure of these jewels, born of another's experience,
However cherished by multitudes over centuries,
Is their resonance with the Diamond of my own Essence.

Lacking this, no matter how treasured by countless others,
I left them in the rubble where I found them buried,
And wandered off, seeking deeper resonance and affinity.

Those jewels I found and kept, are treasured in gratitude,
For the Water of Beauty they offered my thirsting Heart,
And the Manna of Wisdom they fed my starving Mind.

Digging, sifting, washing away the obscuring encrustations,
Of so many binding orthodoxies and rigid dogmas,
I saw refracted, there, in those jewels of many colors...

The Diamond of my own Radiant Essence.

For some, it is best to set aside religion and philosophy,
And undo the conditionings that have accrued within us,
Over a lifetime lived under their tutelage and influence.

Not for everyone, but for some.

For some, our experience must be unwrapped, unveiled,
In interpretations by others, of their unique experience,
However revered or worshiped they may be...

So we can see with eyes afresh in Wonder.

For some, it is best to be liberated even from liberation,
Described and defined by others, long dead, or living,,
However revered or worshiped they may be...

So we can experience freedom anew, in its Purity.

Some of us must discard the burdensome clothing,
Of enlightenment and such, propounded by others,
However revered or worshiped they may be...

And face, naked and wide-eyed, our Radiant Essence.

The Longing - a meandering...

Since I was a young child I longed to know "God" -
the "God' of my childhood religion...

~

Recently longing has arisen again...

I long to know "God" still,
even though that longing has been covered over by layers of
different beliefs and stances - all veils...  And my idea of, and
names for "God" have changed; like "The Mystery", The Beloved,
The Great Silence...

It's time to part the veils so that I may truly know the "God" of my
longing; not the "God" of my childhood religion - not a man-made
"God" - but "The Source" Itself...  The Primordial, Nameless "God"...
Some have called it the Primal Energy, or even the Divine Breath...
But I long for something more personal...

I sense that all our longings and sorrows come from this longing for
"Source"; to know who/what that truly is - our origin, and if we are
that - as the many spiritual teachings say.

So I turn to look for the Source of my longing, that I wish to know 
intimately - again - as in the beginning - before birth.  All others
have been only names, personas, maybe even "lesser gods."

The longing is not for a distant "God - but the "God" who
resides within - the Source or Essence of myself.

Whoa - What?

As those words slipped out onto the page, they caught my attention:
"the 'God' who resides within -
the Source or Essence of myself."

The "Source" is within!
What I long for is in myself! 

This hit me as if this was a "new" revelation,
with a feeling of relaxed awe and wonder...

And yet, I know I know this! - intellectually, in my head.
"God - aka the Primal Source of all that is resides in everyone and
everything...  But I want to know it experientially...
to feel it intimately...

I am not ashamed to feel that longing again; that was hidden by
the veils of the intellect, the intellectualized, conceptualized, and
abstract stances, and belief systems...

It is the Heart longing that will bring me to "the Source" of my
longing; not stances and belief systems, but the innocent, child-like
longing from the Heart - the direct experience that the "God" I long
for resides within myself.

I am finally allowing myself to feel that fire of longing
again...

My child-heart has opened once more...

Go Beyond - The Upanishads

We spend our days in the familiar world of our five senses,
but what lies beyond that, if anything - a vast world, perhaps,
waiting to be explored.  Most of us are happy to stay where we
are.  We may even be afraid to venture into the unknown.

Yet there are always a few who are not content...

Simply knowing there is something unknown beyond their
reach makes them acutely restless.  This is true of adventurers -
especially those who seek to explore Consciousness [Ultimate
Reality] itself.  They quietly slip out to see what lies beyond
 the topography of Consciousness itself [that] has an
illumination of its own...

We are meant to explore, to seek, to push the limits of our
potential as human beings.  The world of the senses is just the
base camp: we are meant to be as much at home in
[transcendent Reality] as in the world of physical reality.

It is our destiny as human beings to make this journey
ourselves.  Everything else is secondary...

Follow the path of the illumined ones...

...a familiar voice tugs at the edge of awareness...

The Upanishads are the recorded stories from Hindu sages
for whom the transcendent Reality called "God" was more
real than the world reported to them by their senses.  Their
purpose is not so much instruction, but inspiration -
an ecstatic snapshot of transcendent Reality.

The Upanishads tell us that there is a Reality underlying 
life which rituals cannot teach, next to which the things we
see and touch in everyday life are shadows (of the Real).

This Reality is the Essence of every created thing, and
the same Reality is our real self.  Each one of us is one
with the power that created and sustains the universe.  And
this oneness can be realized directly...  a Reality beyond
ordinary knowing...
It is the purpose for which each of us has been born...

Personal Note: Even with this "knowing"
that was "given" to me so many years ago, how can I not be
emotionally touched by the current mass casualties of ignorance
and violence - the suffering and death and political upheaval
in my own country - that has led us to this Holy Darkness where
our personal and collective illusions and delusions are collapsing -
gratefully. Someone I listened to recently called it the
Global Dark Night of the Soul...

"Knowing" a deeper truth, however, does not mean one doesn't feel the
impact of what is happening, or deny its reality.

Knowing Silence - Robert Rabbin

One day, as if I had lived alone for many years in the deep desert,
I was taken by a stunning stillness, and without resistance I
disappeared into Silence.  It was more than an epiphany,
more than grace, more than mystical union: It was my soul's
homecoming, my heart's overflowing love, and my mind's
eternal peace.

In Silence, I felt my core identity, my essential nature, as a
unity-in-love with all creation.  I experienced freedom, clarity,
and joy as my true Self.  I realized I was of time and eternity
in equal measure.  I was composed of physical matter and
spiritual energy in equal measure...

This Self, this Silence, belongs to all of us - it is who we are;
it is what we are.  If we are to experience and embody authentic
peace and love, if we are going to bring true healing to our wildly
violent and endangered world, we are going to have to learn to
 live within this essence...

Please remember the Silence beyond words, the Silence of mystery,
the Silence of the soul, of the heart, the Silence in which lovers
give themselves to a greater loving, a selfless loving, the Silence
 which knows only this moment..., this incredible instant of pure
 life when time suddenly stops, when we breathe the high-altitude
air we call love.  I want to remind you of these ways of Silence
 knowing and being, which you know, which you are.

Silence is within our very genes.  It winds around and binds
together the strands of our DNA.  It is the essence of who we are.
  It is within our breath.  It is there like music between our thoughts.
  It is the light within our eyes.  It is the high arc of birds we long
 to follow home to  their secret nests.  It is in the rhythm of waves,
 the innocence of children, the deep feelings within the heart that
 have no cause, when the heart is pierced without warning and
 your eyes fill with tears. It is within the kindness of one person to
 another. It is within the stillness of nights, and peace of early
 mornings.

In Silence, we open to life and life opens to us, life reaches
 towards us and touches us in the center of our heart. Our heart
 breaks open and another heart is revealed.  This is the true heart,
 the one that knows how to meet life with open arms. Silence
 knows that thoughts *about* life are not life itself.  If we touch
 life through Silence, life touches us back, intimately...  And
 then the mystery of life, the wonder of life, the beauty of life,
 the sanctity of life, become our life.  Everything but wonderment
 falls away...

Knowing Silence is knowing your Self.  Knowing your Self is
freedom.  In Silence, you are the very embodiment of joy, the
very expression of love.  Enter your Self fully and deeply.  You
will find this Silence, and in Silence you will know
the embodiment of Silence [that] you are...

"No More!"...

I heard a voice of a young child as I was waking from sleep yesterday morning.  It yelled “No More!”  The voice came from *inside* - How strange I thought.  I wondered if this was a message for me, or, if it was me screaming from the inside – “No More!” – enduring a particularly stressful time at this moment in life. Or was it my inner psyche calling out to a world gone mad; witnessing a species apparently turning against itself, apparently trying to destroy itself in so many different ways – or so it seems.  And the rest of us – onlookers – enduring the dance of darkness that plays itself out – forced to face the darkness within and without.  I pondered this all day, turning my awareness inward to the fear inside – repeating the phrase internally – “No More!”  At the end of the day’s reflection was the sense that sometimes all we can do is endure the way life is – day to day.  And I wondered why - why that is true, why is it that we must “endure” such pain, such suffering, both within and without…  But there was no answer….

 Maybe the voice was from a dream I didn’t realize I was having.  And maybe that really is what life is – a dream we don’t realize we’re having – that we must endure for as long as the dream lasts, until we are awakened from the dream by a voice saying “No More!”…  I don’t know…  I cannot presume to know anything anymore…
